Revolutionary vs Terrorist

They say “One man’s revolutionary is another man’s terrorist”And I haven’t come across a worse attempt at appropriating Terrorism than this statement.

A revolutionary is against the establishment. He wages a fight against those in power. His targets are Government machinery and forces.

A revolutionary balks at the idea of hurting the civilians or the unarmed and the weak.

A terrorist on the other hand targets civilians to force his political ambitions and gains to be fulfilled by the Government.

He doesn’t care about the number of civilian casualties. He murders defenseless people to further his political ideology. For him civilian casualties are dismissed as collateral damage. And that is the biggest difference between a Revolutionary and a Terrorist.
